# Polish–Lithuanian alliance (1325)

Prince Casimir married Aldona, daughter of Grand Duke Gediminas, allying Poland with Lithuania against the Teutonic Order. Within the broader Restored Kingdom period: Władysław the Elbow-high and Casimir the Great rebuilt a united Kingdom of Poland, codifying laws, founding a university and expanding to the south-east, before the crown passed to the Angevins. At this point in the timeline (1325), the governing authority was Władysław I the Elbow-high (King of Poland). Reunited the core Polish lands and was crowned King of Poland in Kraków in 1320, restoring the kingdom.
