# Battle of Grunwald (1410)

The combined Polish–Lithuanian army under Jagiełło and Vytautas defeated the Teutonic Knights; Grand Master Ulrich von Jungingen was killed. It was one of the largest battles of medieval Europe. Within the broader Jagiellonian Age period: The union with Lithuania created one of Europe's largest states. Victory over the Teutonic Order, the rise of noble democracy and a brilliant Renaissance culture marked the Jagiellonian golden age.
