# Treaty of Melno (1422)

After the Gollub War, the Order renounced Samogitia and a stable border was fixed that lasted until 1919. Within the broader Jagiellonian Age period: The union with Lithuania created one of Europe's largest states. Victory over the Teutonic Order, the rise of noble democracy and a brilliant Renaissance culture marked the Jagiellonian golden age. At this point in the timeline (27 September 1422), the governing authority was Władysław II Jagiełło (King of Poland). Grand Duke of Lithuania who became King of Poland, Christianised Lithuania and defeated the Teutonic Order at Grunwald.
